Although we're always looking for a different angle in photography, symmetry can also be pleasing to the eye, and is actually a necessity quite often. Can you imagine if people had their nose placed on the right side of their face, or one ear on the back of their head and another on the left ? Just wouldn't look right, would it.
Symmetry can be found in man-made structures as well as in nature. I found symmetry in both today.

WOW, that last photo is amazing! Literally stunning quality, now I'm going to have to get out and attempt to play with my Rebel one of these fine days. I'm just itching to get out somewhere in the country, not so sure if it's to take photos or just relax or both!

The fist one needs some tweaking to get it perfectly right. Try rotating it to straighten the bar from the top to the bottom, that would also rotate the pole to the perfect point on the left. Just a tip!

@M - thank you. I hadn't done any rotating on the first - just eye-balled it through the lens and shot - but I'll play with it a bit.

@Krista - thanks. It was out of curiosity that I rotated that photo and it looked totally unlike the original landscape shot, which I did take to create a 'mirror image'.
