No, don't worry, I won't be discussing or posting photos of mascara or rouge or whatever else it is that most of the fairer sex apply in an almost daily paint-by-number ritual - and I say that in a most complimentary way. I thought I should 'make up' for, or at least provide a counter balance to, yesterday's post, which showed an in-your-face closeup of a fairly ugly grub (I know, I know - beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that ...). So for some of you that may have had nightmares after seeing those shots, perhaps you'll have sweet dreams after seeing today's. Enjoy.
(both shots made with a 10-22mm lens at f13, 1/200 sec, ISO200)

Awww, thank you Rick. Christmas come early! ;-) Stunning shots and what a blessing to have such beauty right before your very eyes in December! Now I can go to bed before 4am! (I was up writing and forgot all about the critter you posted so that had nothing to do with my lack of sleep, just thought I'd share that! lol)
It's not fair that you get shots like that in December. Well, really I do love winter shots, so I'm not too jealous.
Lovely colors!!
Oooohhhh! I LOVE hibiscus. You've captured them so well. I see you've headed south again. :o) Good for you, soak up some sun for me!
ahhhh...thank you.
Much less scary;)
I love these....makes me want to run down to Florida!
That's better!
Looks like you've got lots of sunshine. Like Scott says, 'NOT FAIR'! (Did you use a polarizer on these shots?) Love hibiscus, reminds me of my mom's garden in California.
Un macro muy bonito con su sombra y todo.
Un saludo.
I think I can still see yesterday's beast . . . (The Worm) . . . :-D
Greetz,
Joseph
Thank you Ruth - I thought you'd prefer these !
Can't be any ends left on those candles Darlene ! Glad I wasn't responsible for any nightmares !
Not sure I'd want to trade for snow shots right now Scott, but I agree that they can be beautiful too (I'll try for some in a couple of weeks).
Thank you Avery !
I'll try to obey your orders, Krista ;-) Yep - we're spending more time down south this winter - hope to make that a habit ! Thanks for dropping by.
LOL Dawn. If you've never been, it's beautiful - although you're probably closer to Hawaii.
Julia - I thought so too !
Marty - isn't that CRAZY ! Hibiscus - outdoors - in December ! Plenty of bisous du soleil pour toi !
Karen - yes, I had to shoot these in bright sunlight and unfortunately I don't have a polarizer to fit this lens (72mm) - I tried to angle downwards to eliminate some of the glare. I'll bet your mom's garden is beautiful !
Gracias muy mucho julia. besa
Soraia - thank you !
Ha ha Joseph - thankfully he shrunk !
I love the hibiscus flowers... I have beautiful bright red hibiscus growing in my front driveway.
Beautiful! Much better! I really love the yellow ones!
and thanks for visiting my site!
They are gorgeous blooms aren't they Katherine !
I thought you'd like that better, Kyria ;-)
Thank you both for dropping by.
