(Day 356) Ode to Project 365

'T was three nights before Christmas
And all through the house,
Not a subject was ready
Not even a louse,
To become a celebrity
On a web site;
And the deadline was looming
"t was going to be tight.

When out of the darkness
In the flickering light
A subject appeared
In the deep of the night;
The tripod was readied
The camera was got
And before time had expired
The subject was shot.

I LOVE your poem! Way to cute! Now what the heck is this interesting photo? Hmmm, A Christmas decoration, quite possibly a bell, one of the ones that opens up and you hang if from the ceiling?

Looking again for the 3rd time I think that I'm way off! lol Awesome photo Rick, now I'm curious.

Sounds like that was a close call, but you even got the poem written and still made deadline. Good job.

Ja precies Rick, zo gaat dat soms...gosh it's kind of hard to type in dutch to you...keep making english mistaks while I'm at it...funny eyh...I even dream in English and some in my surroundings think somethings really wrong with me....don't tell but yea there is big time ;-)))

Okay but please explain what this is...some kind of christmas ornament? Anyhow I love it.

Voor jou en alle dierbare om je heen wens ik je een warme gezellige kerst toe. Met daarop volgend een spetterend nieuw begin van 2011.
CU around my friend.
Hugs Dag

Yahoo! Congratulations to you on this 365th moment.
And we get a poem as well...which is absolutely perfect:)
Captivating shot.
A walnut? Some sort of nut shell? Pinecone/acorn?

(This doesn't mean your posts will be over....Does it?????
Hoping not!)
Wanting to hear an Ode to Post #1 as you begin it all over again ....please.

Well, now you have a decision to make.....do you continue with your career as a world renown photographer, or try to become the next poet laureate?? (Have no idea if that is spelled right!) Anyway, Rick, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year filled with health and happiness and many more beautiful photographs!!

Oh I think the photo is Christmas Candle??? Am I right??

Rick said...

Hi Darlene - well, I guess I can reveal the 'secret' subject - it's actually quite seasonal - it's the top of a candle that's part of a table centrepiece my wife put out for Christmas, and I shot it in the light from the wood stove. Thanks - nice guesses ;-)

Thanks Scott - nothing like a deadline to get the creative juices flowing !

LOL Dag !! You mean people have noticed there's something going on with you ? ;-) see above for the answer - it wasn't meant to be a riddle. Bedankt voor je warme wensen, en ook bedankt voor je regelmatig bezoek hier; al het beste in het komende jaar ! Groetjes, Rick

Dawn - maybe I'll have to be a little more careful with the titles on my posts - this was #356, so 9 more to go ! I haven't quite decided yet what to do on day 366. I don't think I could forsake the blogging friends I've made this year, so I'm expecting to be around. Thanks for your guesses ... close, but no cigar ;-)

Gracias Leovi ! Yes, near the end, but not quite finished.

Thanks Joseph - see above ;-)

Ha ha, I'm not sure but somehow I don't think I'll go the 'Poet Laureate' route ;-) But thank you Karen for your very nice compliment ! I'd like to wish you and your family a blessed Christmas also and all the best for the New Year.

Thank you Stewart !

Hi Katherine ! First of all - you were right - a Christmas candle !! Thank you for your kind words - I think I can only come up with some 'poetry' when under time pressure ;-) but I'll check out the blog.

Thank you for visiting here often and leaving encouraging comments - I think you have a gift for that. It's been my pleasure to have 'met' you in bloggerland and to have been able to share stories and photos of our respective beauty spots.

I would also like to wish you and your family a blessed Christmas - may it truly be joy-full - and the best in the New Year ! From your Canadian blogger friend 'up over' ;-)
