Wow, you took my breath away with this one! Can I pretty please use it as my new desktop background? Obviously I LOVE it!
Have a fantastic evening Rick, you've made mine with this magnificent photo. Now my desire to learn HDR is back again, I hope to get time to learn this technique one of these years!
Thanks Dawn; the light was just perfect, as the sun was starting to set. And yes, Merrickville is a pretty town, not modernized much since the early 1800's.
Thank you Darlene. I re-posted the image in a larger size (once I created some space on blogger). Feel free to use it for your desktop if you like. HDR isn't that difficult - take 3 exposures at -2, 0, +2 EV and use a program (I use Photomatix) to merge them - play around with the settings a bit and you can create wonderful results.
Thank you Rick, if and when I get the time you bet I'm going to play around and see if I can figure the HDR out. Thanks for the tips on how to do the HDR, from the first time I saw this done I fell in love with it, it adds so much to a photo, depth, color and it almost gives the picture a 3D look.
