(Day 321) The epitome of patience

I went out tonight after dinner to fulfil my obligation to my project 365 master - that would be me. I think another thing I've learned from doing this is that photography is a solitary endeavour. It's you and the camera and what you see. Personally I would become bored quickly if I had to follow someone around to watch them capture what they were experiencing, since I wouldn't or couldn't be part of their space.

Enter Sasha, our dog. When she sees me reach for the camera bag, she gets that bewildered look on her face - 'can it be true, are we really going out ?'. Little does she care about where we're going, for how long, what the light will be like, nor a thousand other little details. Impatiently she waits at the door, and then makes a beeline for the car. And at the destination, she'll patiently follow me around and sit and wait as I fiddle with gear and make as many images as I want. And if it lasts a while, she'll gladly lie down and wait longer - kinda like in today's photo.

I'm sure Sasha loves your photography habit! I have driven my friends crazy when I pull out my camera when we're out hiking. Oh well! :) dogs are much more patient. Nice photo, & hello from Oregon!

Haha....at least Sasha is happy regardless...as long as you take her out of course;)
My family cringes every time I reach for mine. I have learned to be quite sneaky at photo-capturing.
Love this shot...love the line it takes you down!

Sasha seems to make the perfect photographic companion. She is an absolutely beautiful dog Rick. I would love to have a dog like her. Unfortunately though we live on a large suburban block (nothing as large as your property) and it is law that you need a fully fenced yard & we presently only have one side of our property fenced. My husband has promised I can have a dog when the entire yard is fences..I can't wait!!
By the way..I love your photo, it's truly lovely!

They are our best friends! My dog is definitely the most patient of my family when it comes to my photography habit ;-) We're going camping soon and I'm already dreading the rolling of eyes and heavy sighs every time I pull out my camera. It just can't be helped though - I'm hoping to get some good shots!

Your composition is great - I'm intrigued to walk the boardwalk...

That IS a faithful friend. My dog loves to go out with me, but being a hound, she must be leashed or she will wander! And that curbs the photo-ops a bit : )

Thanks for your kind and encouraging words on my blog. My husband loved the one about some days being diamonds and some being stones!

Awww, that's so sweeeeet! Makes me wanna get a dog & take w/ me on my photo-shoots, but I'm more of a cat person... Glad you have her to go w/ you!

I think that must make your excursions many times better, having your trusty companion at your side, patiently waiting and watching. Cool shot today too.

This is a faithful friend. I make my husband drive me around while I take pictures. He is great about finding tucked away places in the country that he knew about when he was a kid.

I sense from the comments that I'm not the only one who draws a less-than-enthusiastic reaction when reaching for the camera. Ah, the comments and eye-rolling we endure - all for the sake of getting 'the shot' ! I envy those of you who get support in your photographic endeavours !!

Thanks to each one of you for your comments - I'm doing my best to get out to see you too !
