(Day 324) Contentment

Dogs are pretty simple creatures. It doesn't take a whole lot to make or keep a dog happy:

 - they like to know that someone's in charge
 - they appreciate being fed. and watered. regularly
 - they respond well to being spoken to and treated kindly
 - they like to have a place to call home
 - occasionally they like to be scratched in those hard-to-reach places

 - they don't care if they get the same food every day, although a treat every now and then is nice
 - they greet you with great enthusiasm whether you've been gone 5 minutes or 5 days
 - they don't need to be entertained with the latest toys, in fact, a stick or ball, or simply going for a walk is lots of fun
 - they don't worry
 - they have patience. usually
 - they have a pretty good work/life balance - tilted a little towards life

I think we could learn a lot from our dogs.

I have four dogs. And, I think they just might be the best "people" I know. Great creatures.

We can learn a lot from our dogs. My dog is so incredibly patient that it just amazes me! Your sweet fur ball has a runny nose!

Oh my god, that's your dog? I love dogs. Really. I didn't know what was to have a dog until, 2 years ago, Stalin came home. They are great creatures, and as you say, we could learn so much about them...

I can tell from all your warm comments that there are many dog lovers among you ! Yes, she is a loyal companion and I empathize with those of you who have lost a companion like that.

We've actually had a little 3-year old girl comment that she looks just like a polar bear ;-)

Thank you all for your visit and I hope the coming week goes well for you !

What Karen Sees said...

Now this looks like a dog with little stress. Isn't worried about the economy or bills to pay, no relationship problems, doesn't care about the ozone, just having a nice nap. Wouldn't that be nice at times!!!

Absolutely, I agree 100% - I just wish everyone treated their dogs/animals that good!!! =)

btw... she's gorgeous in all that white fur

Wow, she is absolutely gorgeous! Fantastic shots of her!

I agree whole-heartedly with the points you made about dogs (:

They show more compassion, love, loyalty and respect then a lot of people that I know!

Thanks, Saz. My wife says Sasha's spoiled - not sure where she gets that idea from ! And I agree with you re: dogs vs people !
