(Day 328) Git yer own fish, buddy

They don't seem to be so dog-friendly down in these parts. There seem to be all sort of restrictions as to where you can take your dog - even though we keep Sasha leashed and we do the PPP routine. So, in keeping with my policy of ignoring dumb rules, we found a nice little community park with all the prerequisites for a lovely outing - near the water, it had a pier, trees for shade, some picnic shelters, no cost ... but they didn't allow dogs. Not to be deterred, we walked down to the pier, Sasha in tow. After spending some time enjoying the scenery and watching a not-yet successful fisherman, we headed back to the car to get our packed lunch. From a distance a woman was yelling that no dogs were allowed in the park - not even on the paved road ! I didn't give her the satisfaction of letting on that I'd heard her, but we packed up and set off for another area.

We did find another, lovelier, area and had an enjoyable lunch under the trees. As I lunched, little black biting bugs lunched on me - ah, the food chain - and I thought humans were always near the top. However, our ouster from the park led us to an area we might otherwise have missed, and where I found the subjects for today's post. Have you ever witnessed such a supercilious look ?

Great photo of the osprey!! There was a hawk in our back yard today, just a few feet away from me on a slash pine branch. But by the time I managed to get the camera he had flown away...

A reason for everything....glad you didn't miss capturing this face:)
Must have not been too worried about you...since they aren't so "pet friendly in them parts-maybe it was because he had never seen a dog before;))
You caught an amazing shot!!

WOW! You continue to wow me Rick. These photos are magnificent. Take a look at my blog today, you really should put together an album with your photos, what an amazing gift that would be! You take some of the most magnificent shots I've ever seen, these ones are so crisp, clear, and are amazing!

Down with women who yell from the distance about harmless dogs, was she jealous? ;-)

Nature an experience.
in the zoo in the native country stürtzte a big owl on my small dog 2 kg, but the fence was the rescue, I had got a fright to death, with a quickness... she sat quite quietly on top in the tree, then fall flight, many greetings from Germany, here lies the first snow,
viele liebe Grüße von Jasmin...

Wow, what great shots. I'm not sure I'd like those intense eyes staring at me. He might be ready to dive bomb!

I hope everyone celebrating Thanksgiving had/is having a great day. Thank you again for your visits and comments - I appreciate them and read them carefully.

Thankfully the ospreys didn't divebomb me although they sounded a bit agitated - I left once I got my shots. They're magnificent birds and yes, things happen for a reason !

That is hard sometimes traveling with pets. It's those people who don't clean up that have ruined it for those that do. Great shot of the Osprey. We have them here in our area.

Gosh what is wrong with people these days...yelling...puhh. She could have walked over to you and tell you about the ways in the park....brrr hate people like that..

anyhow this feathered one scares me a little because of his looks...otherwise he's a beauty.

Leovi - thank you !

Alex - LOL - not as long as they stay up in the tree !

Carrie - I know - that's why there are so many rules in the world - for the 3% of people who need them but don't heed them ! Thanks.

Dag - yeah, I know - uncouth I would say. The osprey didn't come my way - good thing - but he/she was magnificent !
