Rainy Day Blues

For a little background music for this post, you could do worse than listen to this.

I hope no one who reads this is from Vancouver (if you are, you'll be able to relate to this):

A woman was attending a conference in Vancouver. Each morning as she went to catch the bus outside the hotel to go to the conference centre, it was raining. On the third day, it was again raining incessantly as she clutched her umbrella at the bus stop. Exasperated, she turned to a young boy who was also waiting there.

"Young man", she asked, "tell me, does it ever stop raining here ?"

The lad turned to her and said "How should I know, lady. I'm only six !"

Well, apparently we are on our way to setting a rainfall record for April. Now, I don't want to compare our situation at all with those parts of the world where rain is causing serious flooding - it's nothing like that. But - the forecast is calling for more rain, every day through next Monday. Here's hoping that the sun makes a guest appearance before then.

We could stand a good shower. Not because we need the moisture, but to wash all the winter dirt from the lawns.I am so glad that no human is in control of the weather.

Your rainy window shot is beautiful, and maybe if the saying is true- those showers will bring a ZILLION May flowers:))

Rick this is a fantastic photo, it makes me want to crawl back into bed, pull the quilts up over me and watch a movie. I just might do that! lol Enjoy your day, stoke the fire and find a good book... isn't that why God made rainy days? ;-)

We did get a little rain yesterday, but overall, we are having a very dry season in the southwest... so your rain looks good! Though I do know what it's like to live where it rains & rains. Hope you see the sun soon!

Hot and humid here... a bit too hot and humid. I would like an invention that evens out the weather from north to south...

love that window shot.

Lol about the vancouver story. Hopefully the sun will make an appearance soon. If not, Birds and Blooms is doing a photo contest with the theme "April Showers." Your photos could definitely win!
