There's something soothing about seeing palm leaves swaying in a light breeze against an azure sky. Ever since I set eyes on such a sight (way back in my youth) when I first visited Florida, that mental image and its connotations has remained with me. The small patch of 'rough' weather (I use the term loosely) we just had, has given way to those clear blue skies and warm temperatures that are key ingredients in the Sunshine State experience.
As the sun was dropping quickly late this afternoon I was compelled to capture a few images.

All shots made with 70-200mm lens at f7.1 and ISO200, with shutter speeds ranging from 1/250 sec to 1/320 sec.)

Very creatively and well done. I really like the division of the greens and the blues in that top pic.
Just out of curiosity, how long will you be in Florida?
I like the idea of photographing palm fronds...really nice! We're leaving for Maui in a few hours...thanks for the idea!!!

I have a windmill palm and love watching how the fronds move in the breeze. Each frond does more of a twist than a sway, if that makes sense...Great shots as always.
Late afternoon light is the best, isn't it? It transforms the way we see (and record) things. Dawn & dusk... my 2 favorite times of the day for photography. The first is my fave.

Tropical plants really are so very beautiful. We have a tropical garden..my husband loves palms, ginger plants and ferns.. so we have lots of them & they are lovely!

@darlin - actually we have met some neighbours and they are friendly; just haven't met the neighbours who have the palm trees with the fruit - they may be seasonal and not here right now. I'll see if I can get some fruit though.
